Airports of Peru (AdP) is a private company, concessionaire of the first group of airports located in the north and central provinces of the country, offering its services to the passengers and the airlines that operate in them.

 

The growth in the contracting volume, both of products and services, coupled with the particularity of being a public concession subject to certain controls and audits, generated the need to optimize the Purchasing function with the following objectives:

 

 

  • Encouraging competitiveness and the culture of generating savings
  • Enable traceability and transparency for the company, its suppliers and the State
  • Improve efficiency and implement good practices in procurement processes

 

Solution

 

The ITBID solution was the implementation of a project for the optimization of the procurement of products and services, based on a solid methodology and development of the skills in the use of an eSourcing and supplier management tool, which would self-document the negotiating process.

 

The project was progressively carried out, incorporating in a "natural" way successive contracting of manageable expenses (promotion and registration of new suppliers, phase RFx offers and to phases of closing by means of reverse auctions or tenders in closed envelope). The change was implemented in different categories and subcategories, promoting competition between suppliers, in price, service and quality, as key aspects for competitive improvement in purchases.

 

Result

 

A perimeter of expenditure of more than US $ 30m was managed, in more than 20 different categories and sub-categories, with average savings of 23.5%.

 

Issue

Wottoline is a leader in the Spanish market of advertisement and promotional products marketing company, whose suppliers are from low-cost countries, separated by vast time differences. Needed an online tool that will allow one hand, quickly obtain estimates price promotions could design their business to their customers, and secondly, the ability to improve estimates by increasing competition costs.

Solution

Wottoline contracted ITBID eSourcing solution. Requests for quotations (RFQ) managed to provide documentation fast and properly. Once the purchasing workforce was formed, reverse auctions became the main tool for the negotiations closing, both with local and low-cost suppliers countries.

Result

Wottoline has established a competitive advantage in an extremely cost sensitive market, according to their capacity to improve competition.

 

Issue

Carglass is a company with worldwide presence, part of the Belron Group, and specializes in the repair and replacement of automotive glass. Its subsidiary in Spain, like other European, have specialized resources for direct purchases, but indirect responsibility for it is scattered throughout the organization, leading to inefficiencies.

Solution

ITBID proposed to Carglass to solve the problem through its Integral Expenditure Management. There were determined, according to the budgets of the Company, which were the categories on which work would be. Expenditure Management is based on deeply knowledge of the category, and savings leverage on which to act, as well as the establishment of a timetable (Purchase Agenda) allowing rationalisation of various categories.

Result

Over 18 months, it was performed on all indirect categories, regardless of size. The specifications and requirements of all documented, creating a knowledge database Carglass shopping. This knowledge also flowed into other European subsidiaries of Belron Group. Persistent and over 20% of the volume-managed savings were obtained. Some of the more complex categories that require more resources to control in ITBID were totally outsourced by BPO with appropriate levels of service.

 

Issue

Catalunya Caixa is a medium-size financial institution, with a solid establishment at Spanish national level. Due to the need to improve its efficiency, it must propose a new reduction and maintenance costs plan at a key moment for the organization.

Solution

The solution that ITBID delivered was setting up by its own Central Purchasing Body. In a two-year project, Catalunya’s Caixa expenditure budget was analysed differing between costs which were manageable and all those which cannot. Following that, competence manageable costs had reviewed too. Obtaining results was the priority in early negotiations to convey a positive image of the change. Purchasing negotiations processes were unified and documented while functions between the manager and buyer were delineated.

Throughout the project, ITBID intensive devoting resources increased from the beginning of the project to the oversight of all internal resources created by the own financial institution, and Purchasing targets from different users aligned themselves with those from the company.

Result

There was managed a baseline of 80M€ in more than 14 different categories, obtaining a saving average of 18%. Several expenditure typologies that were never been managed before were introduced on the Purchasing Central Body, achieving internal customer’s and branches’ full satisfaction.
